Outside Magazine has just ranked the world’s 20 best dog breeds for cold and snow.

“In general, a dog that thrives in a snowy climate has a dense coat that insulates them from the elements.  Often, northern dog breeds will have a good foundation by virtue of stout furry paws that allow them to traverse icy terrain.” – Bernadine Cruz, who has worked with arctic dogs as a trail veterinarian for the Iditarod, Yukon Quest, and John Beargrease sled-dog races/Outside Magazine

Alaskan malamute 19th? And where are the Canadian and Greenland Inuit dogs? Be serious. My malamutes have always been as impervious to the cold as my Siberian huskys and Samoyeds.
