It’s no secret that the Canadian mountains, from east to west, get clobbered with snow year in and year out. A huge part of this is definitely the sustained cold temperatures that tend to settle on our northern neighbors but also the storm tracks that run through each end of the country, from the Pacific storms in the west to the lake effect coming off the Great Lakes in the east. Top this off with a good exchange rate in todays market and you have yourself some of the best ski-vacation options available no matter where you live or what your budget may be.

With that in mind and the updated chance for a “La Niña” year lurking in the back of our brains, here is a list of the opening days for some of the greatest Canada has to offer. (For more on “La Niña” please see NOAA Issues La Niña Watch…)

Snow has already touched down across most of Canada and some people have been getting after the goods. Even a few big mountain lines have been conquered and we’re not through Halloween yet! (To check out Canada’s September skiing please visit Big Mountain Skiing this September.) Fingers crossed that La Niña pulls through and dumps loads of snow across the entirety of North America, but if it doesn’t theres always stashes-a-plenty up in the Great White North.
