The B.C. coroners office has confirmed that a 27-year-old snowboarder died at Whistler Blackcomb ski resort in B.C., Canada yesterday just 3 days after the resort’s opening.
He was found unresponsive in a gladed area near the Arthur’s Choice run at Blackcomb.  Members of the public performed CPR before Blackcomb ski patrol arrived at 12:15pm.
Ski patrol continued CPR and used an AED defibrillator, but the snowboarder did not recover. Â He was pronounced dead at 1:17pm.
Canadian police are investigating the death and more information will be provided this week.
Whistler Blackcomb has seen 82″ (6.75′) of snow in the past  7 days.
There’s certainly some risk of tree well suffocation at Whistler Blackcomb right now.  Please be careful and ski/ride with a buddy.
