The snow is about to start flying in North America and it’s time to check in and what’s new at US ski resorts.
We have 9 ski resorts installing new ski lifts this summer. Â All these lifts are making their ski resorts better.
Mt. Bachelor, OR
New Lift: Â
- Cloudchaser Chairlift
Details:
- 1,448-vertical feet
- Will open up 635 acres of new terrain at Mt. Bachelor turning Bachelor into the 5th largest ski resort in the USA (4,318 acres)

Jackson Hole, WY
New Lift:
- Sweetwater Gondola
Lift Details:
- 1,276-vertical feet
- Will have mid-station 1/3 of the way up in the Solitude area

Grand Targhee, WY
New Lift: Â
- Replacement of Blackfoot Double Chairlift
Details:
- Originally built in 1974
- New chair will be a fixed grip quad and will the 1,200-vertical-foot ride time from 12 minutes to 7 minutes

- Replacement of Challenger Chairlift & Replacement Lone Peak Triple Chairlift
Details:
- New Doppelmayr triple chair to replace Challenger double chair
- New high speed Doppelmayr triple to replace Lone Peak Triple Chairlift

- 2-Way Surface Lift
Details:
- Will run between lower Bull Run and the bottom of the Legends (Lift 8) high-speed quad

Arizona Snowbowl, AZ
New Lift: Â
- Grand Canyon Express six-pack chairlift
Details:
- 1,530-vertical-feet in less than 6-minutes
- Will be Arizona’s first six-pack chairlift

- Replacement Sun Up Chairlift
Details:
- Fixed-grip triple will be replaced with a new high speed quad

Wilmot, WI

- Chairs 2, 3, 6, & 8 will be replaced
Details:
- Combined with a new high-speed rope tow in the terrain park and two new surface conveyor lifts in the beginner area, the new lifts will increase capacity by up to 45 percent

Cherry Peak, UT
New Lift: Â
- Summit Chair
Details:
- This will be Cherry Peak’s second season of operation and the new Summit Chair will be its 4th lift
- Summit will be the 4rd Yan triple chair for Cherry Peak and it came from Squaw Valley, CA.

Two new lifts at Cascade Mountain in Wisconsin. A high speed quad replaces a fixed grip quad and a new fixed grip triple expanding into new territory.
You left out the new lift at Caberfae Peaks in Michigan!!! We are vertically challenged but it is a big deal at one of the best and most historic hills in our state. What gives? You managed to include Wisconsin and a bump in the road at Vail?
Bigsky has a new 6 chair replacing lone Peak triple.
Nothing from Squaw/Alpine; they’re done pretending.
