The owner of Points North Heli, Kevin Quinn, went out for bird’s eye view of Lake Tahoe’s new snow yesterday.  He & his passengers snapped these photos and we’re very grateful he’s allowed us to use them here.  There’s no better way to get a feel for how much snow is in a mountain range than flying over it and gawking at it from every possible angle.

Squaw & Alpine have a bit of snow coverage since last week’s storm that dropped around 10” in the higher elevations.  Now that temperatures are consistently cold at night, snowmaking is in full effect at Squaw and Alpine.  They’re cranking out as much snow as they can each night in preparation for opening as soon as possible.

The forecast for Tahoe is showing sun and highs in the 50s this week with the possibility for some snow starting Thanksgiving day.
