Squaw Valley had been skiing great for the last week.  We skied powder everyday from Dec. 12th until Dec. 20th.  On the 20th and 21st it rained, then yesterday was sunny.

Squaw has gotten over 100″ of snowfall this season already.

Since December 12th, the skiing at Squaw has been good – great at times.  Even during the rain on the 20th and 21st, it was still fun skiing.

Yesterday was damn fun as well with great spring skiing on Headwall.  We skied Sun Bowl to Horse Tails and nothing else from 10am until closing and it was a blast.  It’s great to have headwall back.

The images in the post were all taken yesterday by our friends at Points North Heli and they show exactly how Squaw is doing in the snow coverage department.  As you can see, we’re doing well up high and things are very thin down low.

A storm is forecast for Christmas and it’s bringing 5-10″ with it.

  1. Great photo’s !

Just read on 23rd, due to the rain, The Wall at KW was a sheet of ice. I’m wondering
if Headwall & Granite Chief areas are also “Firm” ?

  2. It is obvious to see through this article to the root of its origin . As a valley resident it smacks of corporate manipulation .

Got an opinion? Let us know...
