There’s no denying that it has been dry in Alta for much of January and February, but winter has finally returned! Last Friday into Saturday we received 3 inches followed by a surprise 11 inches! This storm skied great for the weekend. The crowds were a bit bad in the mornings but settled by the afternoons.

Following the storm we had a few more days of sun a warm. All of the locals got out and enjoyed the stable backcountry conditions, putting more tracks on some of the favorite roadside attractions than I have ever seen.

While last weekends storm was a great teaser, we are all hoping it was just that and the coming week, and hopefully weeks will bring much more snow!

Just today (Thursday) we received 3 inches of light, rightsideup snow, that skied very well. It is still snowing this evening as I write too!! We are all physched to see some white fluffy stuff falling from the sky again!!

SNOW REPORT:

24 hour snowfall: 3”
7 day snowfall: 16″
base: 73″
season snowfall: 221″

WEATHER:

Winter is back baby!! I could talk about a bunch of details for the upcoming week and probably be wrong on all my predictions. So instead I will just say, we are entering a snowy pattern. It should snow some amount many of the next 7 days!! While nothing looks like a mega storm each impulse should give us some much needed snow! Lets hope we don’t see the sun for a while!!
