This past week has been a bit of a conditions roller coaster. We ended a long period of high pressure with a 21 inches storm that had some of the highest intensity snow of the season for a few morning hours. The storm came in hard and left in a hurry leaving us with a couple gorgeous bluebird days.

Monday was an insane day! it snowed 21 inches of snow with 11 inches falling in 4 hrs. It was about 28 degrees all day and it made for some wet skiing, but with a nice waterproof shell it was certainly a day well worth going bell to bell. Free refills, and no lines.

Tuesday was the sucker day. Word spread quick about the epic skiing on Monday, and the crowds swarmed on Tuesday. But with only 5 additions inches overnight, some mechanical issues on Collins, and huge lift lines, many were saying Tuesday was a bit of a let down.

The next few days were fun and sunny. With a stable mid season snowpack patrol was able to drop ropes on Devil’s Castle for the first time this season and Main Chute for the second time. It is great to see patrol working hard to get terrain open so soon after a storm!

SNOW REPORT:

24 hour snowfall: 0”
7 day snowfall: 25″
base: 72″
season snowfall: 188″

WEATHER:

After a couple storms dropped 25 inches of snow, we have gone back to a period of high pressure. This H should last for another few days. By this weekend and early next week we should have a couple storms brush us to the North. Nothing looks like more than a couple inches at this point. But that is what I said last week and we got over 2ft so lets just let Alta deliver!
