Alyeska, AK Breaks 700″ of Snowfall This Season

Alyeska ski resort in Girdwood, AK has incredibly broken 700″ of snowfall this season on their upper mountain.  It’s only early March…

“What’s that? A 700″ party, you say?! That’s right, with another 10″ in the last 24 hours, we are now sitting at 703″ of total snowfall for the season and still 6 weeks left to go!” – Alyeska, today

Alyeska has the biggest snowfall total in North America at 702″ and the 2nd deepest snowpack in North America at 195″.

Alyeska just broke 600″ on February 22nd, 2016.  Alyeska broke 500″ on February 9th, 2016 and they broke 400″ on January 25th, 2016.

This means that Alyeska has seen over 300″ of swowfall since January 25th…  That’s 300″ of snow in 6 weeks or 50″ of snowfall per week…

Alyeska averages 650″ of snowfall per year on their upper mountain, so this is one heck of a good year.

  1. I think it would be fair to mention that the snow levels down low are at zero . Arguably the best run on the mountain the north face is not even open .
