An avalanche on Mt. Blanc, France killed two climbers today.

The avalanche occurred at about 10,500-feet, killing a man and woman from Lithuania.  A third Lithuanian climber survived the avalanche without injury.

Details are still fuzzy at this time but it appears the avalanche was in the Argentiere region of Mont Blanc massif in Chamonix, France.

This was the first fatal avalanche in the French Alps this year.  Low snowfall has lead to almost no avalanches.

The deadly avalanche today was attributed to recent snowfalls.
