Last January, Wasatch Brewery in Park City, UT broke the world record for longest shot ski, which had been held previously by Breckenridge. The brewery beat the record with a shot ski holding 1,191 shots of their local beer. At this years annual Ullr festival hosted in Breckenridge, the Colorado ski resort aimed to take back their title.

The four day festival in Breckendridge celebrates the norse god Ullr who is known for his love of snow and cold. Along with skiing, food, and drinks the event hosts many activities including a parade and floats as well as a chance to drink from an enormous shot ski. The shot ski record is held for the longest single shot ski with as many people at it as possible and each year the people try and beat this record at Breck’s Ullr fest. Breckenridge did end up breaking this record with a whopping 1,997 foot long shot ski made up of 420 skis with 1,234 people prepared to take a swig of Hot Box Mountain Shot cinnamon whiskey at the 54th annual Ullr festival.

With a successful record taken back and another Ullr fest under their belts, the people of Breckenridge can get back to enjoying more snow along with the four feet they’ve gathered over the week.
