Christmas Week in Tahoe, the Best it Could Be| Squaw & Bronco

Jesse Cassidy |

The Holidays always prove to be a busy season in Tahoe, no matter good snow or bad. This year was no exception, while the snowfall was less than desirable, the skiing was actually really good. During the holiday week, most passes at Squaw & Alpine are blacked out, but for those select few (Gold, Student…) the skiing is some of the best it will be all season. And this season was no exception, while lack of snow put a damper on the skiing, the skiing was still ripping at Squaw, and the backcountry offered even better options. Eric and Jesse got after it during their winter break, and made the best of the dismal snow pack, large holiday crowds, and the ever beautiful Tahoe weather.

  1. comment was “skiing is some of the best it will be all season” If that’s true i’ll burn my pass.
I wasn’t blacked out but it wasn’t good enough to come out. Went to S & A last week. Verdict groomers are good but blacks like Hogsback & Scott Chute were very icy. That was on a warm day-extended colder spell now. Lakeview melted out, Scott & Sherwood are almost gone -rocks & dirt. Won’t be back till we get new snow.
