SHOT 3/22/2004 - Friends Brian Brill (left) of Blue River and Amy Kirchner of Breckenridge, Co. grill out on The Beach at Arapahoe Basin Monday afternoon after a day of skiing and snowboarding. With temperatures in the 50's and plenty of sun, spring conditions are in full force at all of the Colorado ski resorts. The flamingo belongs to Kirchner and she said it has traveled all over the country with her. The Beach is a popular apres-ski party area at Arapahoe Basin. (Photo by Marc Piscotty/ © 2004)

Ahh, the sweet, distinct smell of cheap hot dogs and brats being grilled accompanied, with of course, some PBR or the other cheapest libation you can get your hands on.  Puppies are running around everywhere and there are girls skiing in bikinis, sometimes even guys too.

Closing days will soon be had by many ski resorts around the country in the upcoming months.  However, don’t let this bum you out! Think of it more as an opportunity to go to as many closing days as possible and rack up some crazy memories while rocking the dirtiest goggle tan humanly possible.  Consider this a personal challenge or simply some encouragement to get out there and enjoy the last of the spring skiing!

  1. Kirkwood’s closing date is 4/17 per their new marketing guy, Wade.

Still, way too early. They will still have an 8 foot base.
