Colorado just had its wettest May on in 121 years of record keeping.  Its wettest May since 1895.  It was also the wettest month in the lower 48 of the USA in 121 years.  Whoa.

That above average precipitation lead to a lot of powder in the month of May in Colorado.  Arapahoe Basin ski resort in Colorado got 54 inches of snow in May bringing their season snowfall now to 338″, which is 98% of their average snowfall (records go back to 1978).

In the contiguous US, this May was the wettest month of any month in a 121-year record! Precipitation averaged across the contiguous US was 4.36 in, 1.45 in above the May normal. In the West, CO had its wettest May on record and UT had its second wettest May. WY, NV, AZ, and NM all had May precipitation totals ranking in the top 10.” – Western Regional Climate Center
