For many of us out West, winter wasn’t exactly what we had hoped for.  We’re being left wanting more.  Luckily, there’s the Southern Hemisphere winter.  In the Southern Hemisphere, the place that gets the most snow is Nevados de Chillan ski resort in Las Trancas Chile.  It’s the Mt. Baker of the Southern Hemisphere and it delivers.

Evo knows that Nevados de Chillan delivers and they’ll be taking skiers and riders there this summer.  Learn more about evo’s 2015 Chile Trip here:  evo 2015 Chile Trip

Nevados de Chillan is big with over 10,000 skiable acres and the potential to hike up to the summit of Vulcan Chillan at 10,535-feet with the for a 5,280-vertical-foot run (yep, that’s a vertical mile) on the right day.  Chillan also offers cat skiing above the ski resort for people looking for an alpine adventure.

Chillan is big.
Chillan is big.

Nevados de Chillan has been hugely legitimized by Ingrid Backstrom, Julian Carr, Todd Ligare, and more big pros spending big chunks of time there last season.  We ranked Chillan in our Top 5 Ski Resorts in South America as the place has the terrain and snowfall to stoke out any freerider.
