Las Lenas ski resort in Argentina just got their first significant snowfall of the 2014 winter season on May 1st, 2014.  It appears that they got about a foot of at the base and there is likely about 3 feet of snow up top.

It’s only early May right now and Las Lenas generally doesn’t open until late June or so.  Will all this snow melt away before the next snowfall?  Definitely.  Freezing levels are going to be above 12,000 feet most of the coming week.

Nevertheless, this is a very fun sign of the coming winter.  Just looking at Lenas this covered in snow is enough to give any snow freak a very nasty snow itch.
