Our boys from Catalonia, Adria Millan and Txema Trull, have been in Las Lenas, Argetina getting after it.

In previous reports, the boys have told us that conditions were thin and scratchy.  Things are likely still thin and scratchy, but there are clearly some good spots.

Yesterday, Las Lenas had a bluebird powder day after 2 days of storms and one day of the Marte (only upper mountain chair) being closed due to wind and avalanche danger.  The two day storm left 17 inches of fresh snow on the upper mountain.

Las Lenas current snow depths:

29 inches at the summit, 24 inches at mid-mountain, 17 inches at the base.

This is all Adria told us about today:

“Marte abierto y caeron unos 40cm en los 2 ultimos dias.” – Adria Millan

This translates to:

“Marte was open today and we got 17 inches of snow in the past two days.”

The forecast at Las Lenas is not promising.  Nothing but hot and sun.  Las Lenas main problem is that it is the same latitude as Los Angeles,California.
