GoPro has announced their 2015 Line of the Winter Contest, challenging skiers and riders to find and film their best lines for the grand prize of a whopping $20,000. The competition will also include a monthly winner who will take home $1,000.
From the folks over at GoPro, here’s how the competition will work:
“We’re looking for your best line this winter! Find your line, turn on your GoPro and document the action for a chance to win the $20,000 grand prize. We’re looking for innovative filming, technical riding, great lighting and creativity.
No fancy editing needed, we’re only considering your raw GoPro clip for the contest! Skiers and snowboarders all submit to the same contest and will be judged by our esteemed panel – who will also be picking a monthly winner to win $1000 as well as the grand prize winner.” – GoPro
Teaming up with Newschoolers and TransWorld SNOWboarding, GoPro’s Line of the Winter Contest will run from December 1st, 2014 to April 30th, 2015. The final round of judging will take place from May 11th – 15th, 2015, when the winner of best line will receive the grand prize. All submissions must be taken with a GoPro camera (of course).
Here’s the judging criteria:
Cinematography + Composition — 25%
Perspective and Degree of Shooting Difficulty — 25%
Performance + Style — 25%
Overall Beauty + Lighting — 25%
The judging panel is comprised of: Abe Kislevitz, Sr. Production Artist at GoPro; Nick Hamilton, Content Director at TransWorld SNOWboarding; and Doug Bishop, GM at Newschoolers. When judging the competition, Hamilton says he’ll be looking for “a mix of uniqueness, creativity, level of riding, and overall impression.”
