Loveland ski resort in Colorado just announced that they will be opening daily for the 2013/14 winter season this Thursday, October 17th, 2013. Â They wanted to be the first resort to open for the season in 2013/14 but they were beat out by Arapahoe Basin, CO who just opened yesterday.
Most of the snow at Loveland will be man made although there has been some recent help from Mother Nature.

The announcement you have all been waiting for…Loveland Ski Area will open for the 2013-2014 season on Thursday, October 17!! The snowmakers have been working hard to get the mountain ready for the first skiers and riders and it is finally time to start the lifts. Chair 1 will start turning at 9:00am on Thursday and will offer access to Catwalk, Mambo and Home Run. The snowmakers have done a tremendous job and the natural snow from Mother Nature has helped a ton. Opening Day conditions will be incredible! Hope to see you on the hill soon!
Once work on Catwalk, Mambo and Home Run is completed, the snowmakers will start working on opening additional terrain.Â
