Whistler is looking down the throat of one big, mean, monsterous storm right now.  It’s already hitting and Whistler has already gotten a few centimeters.

A lot of places in North America have already gotten snow this year:  Tahoe, Mammoth, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, New Hampshire, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, more.  People are already skiing in Colorado and the Alps…  but this forecast for Whistler is…  well it’s…

The forecast for Whistler is ridiculous:  130cms (51 inches / 4.25 feet) between now and Tuesday.  Whoa.  Whistler doesn’t generally get big dumps like this.  They usually get a decent amount of snow everyday, but this is just one good old fashioned Dump.

Whistler-Blackcomb Alpine Forecast as of 10am on September 28th, 2013 showing 130cms in the next 4 days.

Whistler is about jump into the fast lane towards winter.  Whistler often gets these early season snows and they stay.  Many times before they’ve sent Mike Douglas and friends up in a heli to get a few laps in and do some filming just to get us completely freaked out for winter.

We hope they do it again this year.  It works.
