NOAA is forecasting above average precipitation for California and the Southwest of the USA in January.  They're forecasting below average precipitation in the Washington and Idaho in January.

NOAA just released their January weather outlook for the USA yesterday.  They’re continuing to hold onto the El Nino pattern for the USA.

JANUARY PRECIPITATION:

This January, NOAA is forecasting above average precipitation for California and the Southwest of the USA. They’re forecasting below average precipitation in the Washington and Idaho in January.

JANUARY TEMPERATURES:

This January, NOAA is forecasting above average temperatures for all the the West Coast and Alaska in January. They’re forecasting below average temperatures in the middle of the country and Texas in January.

WHERE TO SKI THIS JANUARY?

From this outlook, it’s looking like California might be the place to be.  Albeit they also have high temperatures forecasted so you’ll want to stay high.  The highest ski resorts in California are Mammoth Mountain and Mt. Rose (technically Nevada, but we’ll annex it soon enough).
