According to the California Highway Patrol, a section of HWY 50 in the Sierra is at risk of collapsing after the shoulder gave way. The westbound shoulder of the road, east of Bridal Veil Falls in El Dorado County, collapsed and the other lane is currently buckling. As California Transportation Workers attempt to fix the issue, they still have lane 1 open. Torrential rain and mudslides have caused lots of issues along highway 50 over the past couple of weeks.
