Spooled Up And Firing: Squaw Video Update

Eric Bryant | | Post Tag for Conditions ReportConditions Report

The ski season in California has been off to an unreal start and yesterday sweetened the pot bringing a foot plus of perfect hero snow.  The mountains were very much alive first thing in the morning, but with the hard work of patrol we were able to get KT by 9:30 and the rest of the mountain soon there after.  Skiing Squaw the past few years had led me to truly believe The Fingers would never be good again.  Thankfully, I was very wrong.

The best turns of the day were to be found off of KT, while Headwall Face and the majority of The Slot, Light Towers, CII Bowl, and Granite Peak all slid.  However, even the slide paths and avalanche debris were surprisingly chalky and skiable.  If temperatures hold, we could be in for another wild weekend and week ahead.  Happy Winter everyone!

  1. Nice work Eric! Gopro never does it justice. Those are all heavy lines skied with no hesitation. My air to engerbritsons was the winner. Impressive stuff.
