Yesterday was the best day I’ve had at Squaw since 2011.
Granted, I’ve been mostly gone the past 5 years, but yesterday truly was incredible.
Faceshots in deep, blower snow, good friends, old friends, copious hoots and screams, not many out, sunshine, snowing hard, deep powder until closing bell, everything…
Started the day getting first chair with Johnny Moseley on Squaw One.
Straight to Siberia and a quick Cool Guy Rock huck.
Then Emigrant, first one down The Funnel.
Then to Granite and some seriously deep snow. Squaw claimed 16″ of new snow on the upper mountain but it was certainly more akin to 24″ of new snow on Granite Chief.
Met up with my old friend, professional big wave surfer Chuck Patterson and we had an absolute ball charging low angle pow and 6′ drops to 24″ deep flat landings all afternoon.
Too much fun.
Best Christmas eve I can remember.
