Travis Ganong is coming into his own.  He just took 3rd place at the Lake Louise Downhill in the FIS World Cup as well as 4th place in Super G.

“I’ve really struggled here at Lake Louise in the past. I really didn’t do well here when I was at the NorAm level, kind of figuring it out. This year the snow is just so perfect that I was able to push hard and ski like I want to ski and be competitive. So I’m really happy with how it worked out.  On a day like today it’s the best day to be a racer – it’s perfect conditions, perfect weather, sunny. It’s a good start to the winter.” – Travis Ganong

The most coveted prize is the overall title for downhill. That’s bigger than an Olympic gold medal or World Championship medal or an individual win on the World Cup.

All the legends of the sport, all the greats have won the downhill title. But no American male has ever done it. That’s definitely my number one focus.
