Sugar Bowl skied splendiferously today. Â Carvable groomers and slushy bumps dominated the day and each was eloquently served via a different chairlift.
The Lincoln chair was dishing up fast, carvable groomers while the Disney chair offered soft, rhythmic, slushy bumps. Â
Lincoln was a blast in the morning as everyone was dropping in, making a few turns, airing the cat track, then speeding away down the meat of the run. Â It made for a great lap and it was highly entertaining to see the moves people were pulling off. Â I’d never exactly seen an “Iron Cross Back Scratcher” before. Â Thanks for the aerial education, Justin.
Disney was great all day as the East Face harbored small, well spaced bumps that stayed soft and slpashy. Â
The weather was mild today with temperatures in the 60s and light wind. Â As the heat of the day rolled in around 1 or 2pm, some of the flat spots were a bit sticky, but it was easy to learn how to avoid them and keep charging.
Sugar Bowl will be celebrating its final weekend of operations this weekend. Â It’s lining up to be a fun weekend.
Oh, and if you buy a season pass for next year, you can ski free this weekend. Â A nice bonus.
