Well, this sucks.  We love Beartooth Basin.  It’s North America’s only summer-only ski resort and it’s run by real skiers and riders.  We’ll just have to look forward to riding here next summer.

Beartooth is siting a major lack of snow as causing the closure this summer.  Up until today, they were planning on opening on May 23rd, 2015.  Now, they will be closed for the entire 2015 summer ski season.

“Well folks, the rumors are true – we won’t be able to open this year. We are crushed, but mother nature and the lack of snow have made the choice for us. We would need an 8ft May miracle at this point.

We will be back in full force next summer and the years to come. This season will give us time to improve the facilities and prepare for low snowpack years like this one.

Many thanks to everyone for the support we’ve received and understanding our plight. We’ve come a long ways in four years so let’s keep the spirit alive!

All are welcome to reach out to info@beartoothbasin.com with questions, comments or ideas.” – Beartooth Basin
