The third annual Spring Cleanup event in South Tahoe again has the place looking a whole lot cleaner.  Volunteers picked up 2,465 pounds of trash in three hours at 19 different locations on Tahoe’s southern shore. Nice work all!

The event was put on and sponsored by the Clean Tahoe Program, the city of South Lake Tahoe, and by Harrah’s and Harveys Lake Tahoe resorts. Most of the trash was standard issue plastic bottles and bags, but some ski bum essentials like bindings, alcohol bottles, and styrofoam coolers also made it into the mix. Who just throws bindings out the window?

Clean Tahoe is having its annual Community Cleanup Day June 9th. Rates at the South Tahoe transfer station will be dirt cheap, so clean out the garage, the back of your Subaru, or your Sprinter Van, and keep the lake area looking great.
