On May 25th, 2014, 15-year old Sasha Johnstone became the youngest person to ever climb and ski the 13,775-foot Grand Teton in Wyoming. ย Sasha climbed the peak with hisย mom, dad,ย mountain guide Greg Collins, and photographer David Gonzales. ย Sasha’s dad is an Exum mountain guide and both of his parents have competed in the Winter Olympics in cross country skiing events.

After summiting, Sasha skied down the Ford Couloir with the group. ย The Ford is a narrow couloir that slashes down the Grand Teton’s south face. ย The Ford Couloir has sections of 55-degrees and is all a no-fall-zone.

“I donโ€™t believe that I was scared. It was more just pure excitement from reaching the top after the exhausting climb up. I just kept thinking, ‘We got here. We made it. The hard part is over.'” – Sasha Johstone told Powder Magazine
