Taos ski resort in New Mexico got 18″ of snow last night and it’s still snowing hard.  They got more snow overnight than any of the Colorado ski resorts that had bigger snow forecasts last night.

Taos is forecast to see another inch or two of snow today before the storm clears out tonight.

Taos is one our favorite ski resorts on Earth and they are in the bullseye of NOAA’s 2015/16 Strong El Nino Winter Outlook.  If you haven’t been to Taos, yet, it’s time to go.

  1. It’s worth noting that that 18 inches is on the modest side of the measurements in the base area, I measured 45 inches near Bull of the Woods pasture at 10,400′, and close to 36 inches near treeline on Frazer Mountain, right across from the Ski Valley. We’ve received close to 70 inches in the upper elevations since the first snowfall on October 3.
