2 Killed in Avalanche in British Columbia Yesterday

Two snowmobilers were killed in an avalanche 2 hours north of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada yesterday.

The avalanche occurred near an unnamed peak about 30km southwest of Blue River, B.C – near Wells Grey Provincial Park.

5 other snowmobilers were uninjured in the avalanche.

The dead were left at the scene.  Rescuers planned on retrieving the bodies as early as possible today.

12 people have died in avalanches in Canada this winter.

24 people have died in avalanches in the USA this winter.

Avalanche Canada recently warned against March being the most deadly month for avalanches in Canada.
