2 Skiers Rescued in the Dark Last Night While Trying to Ski Mt. Washington, NH:

Two adult male skiers who were trying to ski Ammonoosuc Ravine on Mt. Washington, NH were rescued on Sunday night according to a press release from the New Hampshire Fish and Game department.

The two men were identified as Loudon Fruth, 25, of Huntsville, Utah, and Michael Nocek, 26, of Greenwich, Connecticut.  They had hiked up the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail and were skiing down the ravine when darkness fell.

Fish and Game reports that the two men were not prepared for a winter excursion.  They had only one light with them, which died.

Officials hiked up to the skiers and guided them to safety.

“Both subjects were cold and wet and happy to see rescuers.” – New Hampshire Fish and Game, yesterday
