You read it right. There is a cold storm coming down from Canada and it plans on dumping 20″ of snow on Montana above 7,000-feet with snow levels as low as 5,000-feet. The leftovers of the storm will hit Utah and drop another 6″ of snow above 8,000-feet.
Weird, right? The first day of summer is this Saturday…
Video describing Utah’s impending snowstorm.
Cool temperatures and rain will continue through Wednesday as the next weather system slowly moves through Idaho and western Montana. Snow levels will also lower to between 5000-6000 feet. Anyone planning to travel or spend time in the back country should prepare for winter-like conditions Tuesday through Wednesday morning. Conditions will improve on Thursday and temperatures will return to normal. – NOAA Missoula, MT
We’re hoping someone takes advantage of this and skis some pow. Be VERY careful out there if you do.
