The 24th Annual Cushing Crossing was held today at Squaw Valley, and it was a fantastic show as always.  With plenty of costumes, crashes, and successful crossings the spring time vibe was alive and well at Squaw.  The snow has been melting fast, but that didn’t stop the grooming crew from pushing up an impressive ramp for the pond skim, with one of the biggest drops into the pond in a few years.

Some honorable mentions include Ben Paciotti, who stomped the first (possibly ever?) 360 into the pond, and still made it successfully across, and Jon Rockwood who successfully crossed the pond on a mono ski.  JD Haas of 101.5 wasn’t able to reclaim his title, going down in his rather exceptional Kiss Costume and Dane Shannon was one of only two snowboarders to make it across (the second one being Jeremy Jones).

Overall the Cushing Crossing was a great time, as always and we look forward to next years Quarter Century Crossing!

  1. So Soul scrapes the sh#t out of mtn run for this event, then closes KT with plenty of snow on west and east sides cept soul claims there’s not enough to keep kT open.

    Yep, K.illing S.oul L.ameness

  2. It should be noted that lots of resorts do these now, but squaw started the tradition and like many other things in the industry others tried to copy.
