The body of a snowmobiler was recovered from an avalanche by Shoshone County Search & Rescue on Tiger peak on Saturday afternoon, February 27, 2021.
The location was on Tiger Peak about 10 miles northwest of Wallace, Idaho.
The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office was alerted about this avalanche accident at 4pm on February 27, 2021.
The body was located at 7pm on February 27, 2021.
4 snowmobilers were caught in the avalanche, 2 were buried in the avalanche, and 1 didn’t survive.
This was the 33rd avalanche fatality of the 2020/21 winter season in the USA.
This was the 27th avalanche fatality in only 29 days in the USA.
