3 Epic Pass New Hampshire Ski Resorts are Opening This Week

New Hampshire’s Wildcat Mountain, Mount Sunapee, and Attitash Mountain are all set to open this week. Wildcat will open on Wednesday, December 3; Sunapee will open on Friday, December 5; and Attitash will open on Saturday, December 6.

All three mountains have Opening Day festivities planned for guests to celebrate the first day of the 2025-26 ski season. All three mountains are on the Epic Pass. Each mountain will offer guests different complimentary food and drink options, ranging from coffee, cocoa, donuts, and warm waffles.

Opening day celebrations at Wildcat Mountain will commence with a traditional first chair banner break at the base of the Wildcat Express at 9:00 a.m. Terrain will include intermediate access to Upper Catapult, Middle Wildcat, and Bobcat. Limited beginner terrain will be available off the Snowbelt Carpet.

Wildcat is known for its rugged, steep terrain with breathtaking views of Mount Washington. Throughout the season, you can choose how wild you want to be, whether you prefer to cruise on the longest novice trail in the Granite State—Pole Cat—or test your skills on 2,100 feet of vertical with one of Wildcat’s legendary instructors in the Adult Edge Program.

This season, Wildcat will feature several signature events and more. Pass Holder First Tracks will be on December 21, January 23, February 22, and March 6. Epic Pass Holders are invited to get in early turns on the Wildcat Express. Enjoy complimentary refreshments and special giveaways by spinning the Passholder Appreciation Wheel, courtesy of Helly Hansen. Cat Scratch Fever will be on February 7 and March 14. This is Wildcat’s annual natural features freeride competition for a shot at bragging rights and swag. Widcat’s Spring Fling and Pond Skim is set for April 4 and 5. It’s the spring event that does it the Wildcat way with a weekend of slushy fun at its annual pond skim.

Wildcat’s regular hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday through Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., through early January, when hours will extend to closing at 4:00 p.m. daily.

Mount Sunapee is kicking off the 2025-26 winter season with a first chair banner break on the Sunapee Express at 9:00 a.m. Skiers and riders will have access to Bonanza, Westside, Toboggan Chute, and Lower Blast Off. Snowmaking will continue as conditions allow. “Mount Sunapee is excited to launch another incredible season,” Sue Donnelly, General Manager of Mount Sunapee, said in a press release. “Our dedicated team has been working tirelessly to deliver exceptional winter conditions to the Merrimack Valley. From our exciting events to skiing, riding, or simply unwinding in the lodge, this season promises unforgettable moments. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone on the mountain!”

With 233 acres of skiable terrain and 97% snowmaking coverage across 67 trails, Mount Sunapee is where young skiers and riders discover the thrill of snow sports and build skills that last a lifetime. At the heart of this experience is South Peak, widely recognized as the best learning terrain in the East, with its dedicated beginner area offering a safe, welcoming environment with gentle slopes, multiple magic carpet lifts, and its own chairlift—perfect for those ready to take their next step.

This season, Mount Sunapee has events and activities for everyone. The resort will offer a five-week Women’s Workshop and Men’s Workshop, with specialized instruction with a social element. Sunapee’s New Year’s Bash will be held on December 31. Guests can ring in the New Year with après festivities, live music on the Toyota Music Den Unplugged, the annual bonfire, S’moresmobile, and more. The Slush Cup and Cardboard Derby is set for March 28. This is a fun event for the whole family to enjoy as slushers ski and snowboard across a 90-foot man-made pond and vie for prizes at the Cardboard Derby.

Opening day celebrations at Attitash will commence with a traditional first chair banner break at the base of The Mountaineer at 8:30 a.m. Terrain will include intermediate access to Upper, Middle, and Lower Saco with the Learning Center lift and Snowbelt. Thanks to the work of the Attitash team, guests will be able to hit the steep and winding trails of Attitash while taking in the views of Mount Washington and the neighboring Presidential Range. Attitash’s Mug Club at Ptarmigan’s kicks off this year with 48 mugs available starting Opening Day.

Nestled in the heart of New Hampshire’s White Mountains, just minutes from the historic village of North Conway, recently named Best Ski Town in America by USA Today for the second consecutive year. Spanning two mountain peaks, the resort boasts 68 diverse trails, 100 acres of meticulously hand-cleared tree skiing, three progressive terrain parks, a thriving ski racing community, and a lively après-ski scene at Ptarmigan’s Pub.

Attitash has invested in guest experience and operational excellence, ranging from infrastructure upgrades to behind-the-scenes improvements. A brand-new haul rope was installed at the Learning Center Lift, ensuring smoother rides for beginners and ski school participants. At the Adventure Center Lodge, a freshly built deck invites guests to relax and take in the mountain views. Both the Main and Adventure Center lodges have undergone roof repairs, enhancing comfort and durability for the winter ahead. Attitash snowmaking machines have had their motors and pumps rebuilt, meaning more reliable snow coverage and better conditions all season long.

This season’s signature events at Attitash offer plenty of fun for guests to enjoy. The 80s Weekend on March 21, where guests can listen to the raddest 80s cover band, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” in Ptarmigans Pub–complete with a costume contest. Attitash will also thank its pass holders with First Tracks on December 27, January 16, February 14, and March 15. Epic Pass Holders can enjoy the thrill of an extra hour of skiing and riding on the mountains and get the coveted first tracks of the day. Attitash After Dark will be on January 31 and will have a new look this season. It’s an après celebration for all ages, including food specials, music, and activities for the whole family, along with a few fun surprises. The Motor Booty Affair is set for March 28, which has been a staple for over two decades. It’s the annual 70s weekend at Attitash with groovy times that guests plan their escape to the mountains around.

Whether you’re chasing powder on Wildcat’s legendary fall lines, perfecting your turns on Sunapee’s family-friendly South Peak, or splitting your day between Attitash’s two peaks and the shops and restaurants of North Conway, the 2025-26 season is ready to deliver. Since all three mountains are part of the Epic Pass, passholders have seamless access to New Hampshire’s most iconic resorts, plus dozens more worldwide.
