Things are changing towards summer now. Â Our collective grip is beginning to loosen. Â Whistler bike park is open, Northstar bike park opens today.
At the same time Arapahoe Basin, CO reopens for it’s last hurrah this weekend, Beartooth Basin got 2-4 feet on new snow last weekend, and that Jackson Hole Tram continues to spin…
Things truly are finally winding down now. Â Beartooth is the zone that is really keeping the hype up for summer right now. Â We just learned about Beartooth Pass and the skiing and riding there is great, as well.
CLOSING DATES FOR SKI RESORTS IN N. AMERICA:
–Â Timberline, ORÂ = September
–Â Beartooth Basin, MT/WYÂ = July 13th
–Â Crystal Mountain, WAÂ = June 16th (weekends only)
–Â Arapahoe Basin, COÂ = June 7-9th
– Jackson Hole Tram =  until the snow runs out… (this is 1 is now becoming iffy, we aren’t sure how conditions are nor if anyone is still skiing/riding from the tram.  We’re calling it a ‘half’ resort still open.
Valle Nevado, Chile opens up this weekend.  Yes, this freaks us out, too.
Southern Hemi ski season is just around the corner.  We’ll be there to keep you informed.
Jackson Hole has not been open for skiing since April 7. The tram is open for sightseeing only. There is no snow left.
Not much snow left, it’s true. Andrew Whiteford got out there and got after it Memorial Day weekend and it looked pretty fun. They will let you bring skis and snowboards up there. You can rip around, then hike back up to the tram. This is likely the last week that it’ll be fun, tho.
