60″ of snow is forecast for Cerro Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina the next 6 days (see below).

This is obviously excellent news, especially since Bariloche has been waiting for its first big dump of the year.

This next week should be damn fun down here.

Heck, yesterday was damn fun up here.  Yesterday we had 2-6″ of new, wind buffed snow and the strong winds yesterday kept refreshing the snow surface every run.  Every turn was creamy goodness all day yesterday with no hitting bottom.  The Nubes (highest) chair was closed yesterday due to the high winds which made it a little powder haven.  We hiked it 5 times and it was great every time.  Friends reported that the La Laguna sidecountry area was great yesterday, as well.

On piste was good and just off the trails were powder shots.  Most the day saw Punta Nevada, La Hoya, Lynch, and Militares open and running very slow due to the big winds.
