686 has never been shy about pushing the limits of snowboard outerwear, and its newest collaboration proves it once again. Teaming up with Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR), the rider-owned brand has created a ski and snowboard jacket that doubles as a beer cooler.

The PBR Cooler Insulated Jacket features a built-in six-pack pocket on the back, plus a bottle opener, making it possible to take après right onto the chairlift. It is a revival of an idea the brand first introduced in 2017 with “The Sixer,” born from the simple problem of riders stuffing beers into their pockets before dropping into rowdy lines.

Of course, this isn’t just a party trick. The jacket is built with 686’s infiDRY™ 10K waterproof fabric, light insulation, and critically taped seams to keep riders warm, dry, and protected in any winter condition. It also carries the company’s signature design philosophy of blending technical performance with creative details. There are 11 total pockets, including three internal ones for goggles, lenses, and stashes, plus eight external ones for everything else. Features like Air-Flo™ underarm vents, a powder skirt, adjustable cuffs and hem, and a helmet-compatible hood make it a legitimate technical shell in its own right. Add in luxuries like a lounge-ready audio pocket, glove link grips, a pass pocket with a key clip, and even a concierge-level storage system, and the Cooler Jacket manages to cover both sides of the mountain lifestyle—serious performance and playful spirit all for $329.95.

Beyond the jacket itself, the 686 x PBR collection includes mittens, socks, hoodies, goggles, and accessories, allowing riders to kit themselves head-to-toe in PBR flair. It’s one of five collaborations the company is rolling out for the 2025-26 season, alongside projects with Huf, Sublime, Mystery Ranch, and Anti Social Social Club.

The Cooler Jacket stands out as the perfect embodiment of 686’s collaborative style: a functional, technical piece of outerwear designed with a wink toward snowboarding’s party culture. After all, nothing says après quite like being able to crack open a cold one straight from your jacket pocket.

Always remember: drinking while skiing or snowboarding can impair your judgment and reaction time, increasing the risk of accidents and injury.
