71-Year-Old Colorado Ski Shop Owner Shot & Killed During Burglary on Sunday

According to the Pagosa Springs Police Department, the owner of the “Ski and Bow Rack” ski shop in Pagosa Springs, CO was shot and killed during a burglary of the ski shop on Sunday night.

Larry Fisher was 71-years-old.

Larry survived the initial shooting, was airlifted to a trauma center in Lakewood, CO and died early Monday morning.

The incident occurred at 9:30pm on Sunday night.

Ski and Bow Rack was ranked as one of the best outfitters in the USA by Outside Magazine in 2015:

The suspect is described by police as a white male, 5-foot-7, who was wearing a hooded camo jacket and jeans.

He was driving a late ’80s to late 90s Toyota 4Runner or Nissan Pathfinder that was very muddy with homemade camouflage on the bottom and a roof rack.

Anyone with any information about this incident and/or suspect is asked to please call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 970.731.2160.

The Pagosa Springs Police Department reports that they are working with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Archuleta Country Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado State Patrol in going through surveillance footage and interviewing people who may have information about the incident.

Pagosa Springs, CO is only 24 miles away from Wolf Creek Ski Area, CO which generally receives the most snow in Colorado.
