The horror! The horror!  Early morning on July 29th, thieves pried open a door and stole seven mountain bikes, worth $62,000 from Basalt Bike & Ski in Carbondale, according to the Aspen Times.  We are talking full carbon and SRAM XX1 Eagle price range on each of these bikes here, folks.

This crime hurts more than this bail did. Photo courtesy of Basalt Bike & Ski.

Justin White, manager of the shop, told the Aspen Daily News Online that one of the bikes was recovered in a nearby ditch with only minor damage.  Hopefully this will help investigators with the thieves whereabouts, but any other information would still appreciated.

Please contact the Carbondale Police Department at 970-963-2662 with any tips about this crime.  Get these bikes back to their rightful owners!
