A 20-Year-Old Snowboarder Died At Spirit Mountain, MN On Sunday

According to Duluth News Tribune, a 20-year-old snowboarder died at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, MN on Sunday. The man, who’s name has yet to be released, was snowboarding with his friends in the terrain park at the resort. After waiting for him at the bottom, his friends went back up the mountain to look for him.

They located him laying on the ground off to the side of the run. Ski Patrol at the resort was immediately notified and they began performing CPR on the man. He was quickly transported to the bottom and placed into an ambulance. Sadly, he was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The cause of his death was listed as a snowboarding accident, but the resort stated that they will continue investigating it.

“This is a terrible tragedy, our condolences to the family and friends at this time,” stated Brandy Ream, the ski area’s executive director.
