Big Red will run this weekend for the first time in two years.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) is pleased to announce that, on May 21, it will kick off its summer operations by reopening the celebrated Aerial Tram for the first time in two years.

Ascending 4,139 feet in just 12 minutes, the Aerial Tram is one of the most identifiable and popular attractions at JHMR. When visitors reach the summit, they’re offered 360-degree views of the Tetons, Jackson Hole valley, and surrounding mountain ranges. This “top of the world” summit also provides access to a plethora of great hiking and running trails, plus waffles and beverages at Corbet’s Cabin.

From May 21 to Oct. 9, the Aerial Tram will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Day ticket pricing and more information can be found online.

“The Jackson Hole Aerial Tram is a spectacular piece of engineering that whisks guests from the base in Teton Village to the top of Rendezvous Mountain. Guests have been known to spot wildlife along the way, and from the top, they are sure to be inspired by the panoramic views of the Tetons and the valley below. For many, their arrival at the top marks the highest point they will access in the Tetons, and they celebrate with a world-famous waffle at Corbet’s Cabin. For others, the tram ride jump-starts a hike or other experience exploring the Bridger-Teton National Forest or Grand Teton National Park. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to experience this truly unique adventure.”

New and exciting things are also happening at the Jackson Hole Bike Park. JHMR and the team at Sensus R.A.D. Trails have been hard at work mapping, designing, and building new trails for riders of all skill levels. Opening June 11, the bike park will be accessible daily between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Individual tickets or season passes can be purchased online.

Other attractions opening on June 11 include sightseeing on the Bridger Gondola; a bungee trampoline, ropes course, and climbing wall; and both Sweetwater Gondola and Teewinot Lift for downhill mountain biking. World-class climbing on the Via Ferrata will open on June 18, and paragliding on June 21.

This summer, an evening Bridger Gondola sightseeing ticket will be required after 5 p.m. unless presenting a full-day sightseeing ticket, summer sightseeing pass, Piste Mountain Bistro reservation, or JHMR Winter 2022-23 Season Pass with summer lift benefits. The evening Bridger Gondola, Piste Mountain Bistro and The Deck @ Piste will be closed every Friday and Saturday as well as June 21 and 23, Aug. 15, and Sept. 1. Additional closure days may be added. JHMR reminds all guests that early season conditions still exist. Those interested in visiting the Resort in May and early June should bring appropriate clothing to stay warm and dry. Guests are allowed to ski in the backcountry, accessible through the Resort’s backcountry gates located near the top of the Aerial Tram. However, as part of JHMR’s special use permit with Bridger-Teton National Forest, no skiing is permitted within the ski area boundary after the winter operating season and when there are no ski patrol representatives on duty. Guests with ski gear will be allowed to load the tram but not the gondolas.
