Squaw and Alpine reported 4″ of new snow overnight.  It snowed lightly throughout the day and maybe gave us another inch.  Maybe not.

Squaw had nearly everything closed all day due to strong winds.  Squaw had only the Funitel and Red Dog open today.

Low tide down low.

Alpine had Summit chair and Hot Wheels open.  Summit was skiing great with fun pockets of 4-6″ deep powder in spots.  You could ski everything and everything was fun.  There were icy mogul heads sticking out here and there and you had to watch for ice, but overall, Summmit skied great.

The weather stayed cloudy, stormy, and windy all day.  The spring sun did fight it’s way through the clouds around 1pm and the snow changed.  The snow got heavy, but it was still damn fun.

Squaw should be great tomorrow as almost nothing opened and should all be untouched tomorrow morning.  We’re hoping for Granite Chief and Siberia and Solitude to open on time tomorrow at 9am.  See you out there.

Pray for snow.

  1. Didn’t have much open but announced via email a new program that credits pass holders up to 4 days if they don’t use their pass. for various reasons, illness, etc.

JT is shamelessly promoting this for Squaw on FB. Complete Sellout

    1. Is it a “sell out” if you are getting paid? Besides, he is good buddies with Andy Wirth. Just ask Andy. Better yet, you don’t have to ask Andy. Just wait for a few sentences and he’ll tell you.
