Alta Ski Area, UT closed to uphill traffic from 6 pm Saturday, November 23rd through the remainder of the ski season. Their mountain operations team is busily preparing the mountain for opening day, November 29th. The resort request that you please respect this closure as there are no exceptions.

It has been a wonderful early season and great while it lasted. It was awesome of the resort letting so many locals enjoy pre-season touring and the first turns of the season, both on the groomers and in the chutes. We certainly took advantage!

Access to Catherine’s pass remains open via the Summer Road. Please know that backcountry conditions persist. Temporary uphill access is permitted in the Supreme area, north (lookers left) of the Supreme lift line.

For all backcountry travel please keep yourself educated through the amazing resources provided by the Utah Avalanche Center.
