The last day of April marks the final day of Alta’s official snowfall observation period. The Utah resort finished this season with 542″, just five inches below their 40-year average of 547″.

With today marking the end of Alta’s seasonal snowfall observation period, we’ll finish our 82nd winter with 542”—just five inches below Alta’s 40-year average of 547”. Lets hope the eventual return to normal includes snowbanks as high as those of yesteryear.

The season before, 18/19 was a particularly awesome season, seeing 626″ of the greatest snow on earth.

The 542″ last season is the 4th best total in the last decade, which includes the 626″ the year before, and also the unbelievable 724″ season of 10/11.
