Snowbird’s website just released this video of the fresh Utah powder that came earlier this week, just in time for opening day:

Brighton was the first resort in Utah to open, welcoming guests on Tuesday, November 18th. The resort now has four lifts serving nine runs (not bad for opening week!).

Thanks to low temperatures in the Wasatch Range over the last month, snow technicians at Utah’s resorts have been cranking their snow guns to prepare for the upcoming season. But a forecast of new snowfall this weekend may be the push many resorts need to open up their doors. Here’s the forecast for Utah’s resorts this weekend:

in the next 72 hours, Snowbird’s projected 15 inches of fresh snow, and Alta’s looking at 17 inches. Tune your skis, tell your boss about that awful bug goin’ round, and get in your first turns this weekend.
