Report from November 18, 2021

Big John and I went for a casual, talk-way-too-much skin up the Collins Chair at Alta yesterday.

It was cool to see Alta patrol and employees spinning laps and getting everything in place and ready for opening day.

Alta opens for the season on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

It took us about 1.5 hours to skin up the groomer and about 3 minutes to ski back down.

The ski on the groomer was great.

Conditions were firm and fast and fun.

The coverage at Alta right now is very solid and they’re blowing as much snow day and night as they can right now.

It’s forecast to snow 3-5″ at Alta tonight.

After 15-days of backcountry skiing this month, we’re definitely excited to give the legs a break and ride some lifts at Alta next week.

Bring on winter 2021/22!
