Alterra Mountain Company Releases its 2025 Impact Report

Today, Alterra Mountain Company released its 2025 Forward Stance Impact Report, championing its ongoing commitment to Social Responsibility. Organizing around four key pillars – Planet, People, Community, and Responsibility – the Forward Stance platform is designed to support the company’s employees, communities, and partners across its portfolio of 19 North American mountain destinations.

Planet

In 2025, Alterra became the first U.S.-based ski company to have its greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets verified in conformance with SBTi. For the last several years, Alterra’s Sustainability leaders have worked to become one of 11,000 global companies to voluntarily align with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) Standards and Guidance and play its part in combating the climate crisis.

“Alterra Mountain Company takes its responsibility seriously to look out for our people, planet, and communities, and continues to lean into opportunities and challenges. We are committed to working within the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) Standards and Guidance to advance us as far as we can go to help support the environment in which we operate and play,” Karen Sanford, Chief Legal & Social Responsibility Officer, Alterra Mountain Company said.
