Alterra Mountain Company is offering select Ikon Pass holders up to $60 in on-mountain credits as Colorado’s ski season continues to struggle with unusually low snowfall, according to reporting by Denver7. An email sent to some passholders this week offers $20 in credits for each day skied at U.S. Ikon resorts, for up to three visits between now and February 25. Skiers must register for the promotion to be eligible, and credits will be deposited into Ikon accounts by March 6, expiring May 31.

The incentive comes as warm temperatures and record-low snowpack have cut into skier visits and spending across Colorado’s ski industry. While Alterra does not release skier visit numbers, Denver7 reported that competitor Vail Resorts recently disclosed a 20% drop in visits and a nearly 16% decline in food-and-beverage revenue earlier this season, citing one of the weakest early snowfall periods in more than three decades. An Alterra spokesperson told Denver7 the early season has been “tough,” though recent storms have improved conditions at resorts such as Steamboat, Winter Park, and Arapahoe Basin, without directly linking the promotion to reduced skier traffic.

Mountain credits can be redeemed at participating food, retail, and rental locations at several Ikon destinations, including Steamboat and Winter Park, as well as resorts in other states such as Palisades Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain, and Deer Valley. Denver7 reported that similar credits were previously offered in 2025 as an alternative to renewal discounts, though it remains unclear how many passholders are eligible for the current promotion.

Details on how to register and where the credits work can be found at the form provided by Alterra
